DRAFT NIGHT, OPENING DAY, & 2009 AWARDS BANQUET

Posted on Mar 18, 2010
Here is the first update for the 2010 Season. First off, we have a new pitcher this year which means we will have 7 competitive teams this year... No Marc Connoley throwing free throws in loafers so Pooch can raise his average by 200 points. Anyways, his name is Seth Thomas and Sean Peters says, quoting Frank Costanza... "He's got a rocket for an arm"... so go introduce yourselves and welcome him at the draft. Seth if you get the first pick, I recommend picking Tony "The Future" Glass... he'll make your transition to pitching a corkball go smoothly.

Next Draft night. DRAFT NIGHT IS NOT TONIGHT MAR. 18th.

Draft Night: Thursday, March 25th 7:00pm at Lemmon's

Pill Picking Order

1.  Bob Sessler

2.  John Greffet

3.  Eric Enright

4.  John Worcester

5.  Tyler Faustich

6.  Jake Moehlenbrock

7.  Seth Thomas

Be ontime dammit. We have a few things to vote on again this year like make-up games & the HBP rule.

2009 & archived stats are on the left side column of the stats and leaders page for the pickers and others to reference.

Opening Day: Saturday, April 3rd 11:00 am Fields 2-4

We are done with the Field #1 mess this year and all games will be played on fields #2-#4.

2009 Awards Banquet
The 2009 Awards Banquet was once again a success. We had a good turnout again and Ray gave a good speech, in which he accused me of being a lazy ass and not doing anything. We had ties in 2 categories because one team were a bunch of assholes and didn't want to vote.

The awards presented were as follows:

Inducted Hall of Fame
Chuck Stillwell - played 12 year, batting titles 1978 and 1984, on base % 1984, lifetime batting average - .465.

Inducted into Service Award
Terry McAnany - played 12 years, RBI champ - 1988, life time batting average - .197. He was president multiple time, ran the club in the Black for the first time and increased # of players - first time they had nine pitchers.

Added to Potential Induction Into the Hall of Fame List
Bill Walters & Brian Timmons
